Gurugram mixes three very different workforces. Udyog Vihar Phase I to VI is full of garment and apparel exporters with large piece-rate and contract crews, alongside BPO and IT floors that run through the night. Haryana rules for Gurugram payroll
- Professional Tax: none. Haryana does not levy PT.
- Labour Welfare Fund: collected monthly: 0.2% of wages from the employee, capped at ₹34 a month from 1 January 2025 (notified in March 2025), with the employer paying twice the employee's share. See Labour Welfare Fund.
- Minimum wages: notified by the Haryana Labour Department by category and revised by notification.
- PF and ESI: apply in full.
- Shops and establishments: the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act 1958, as applied in Haryana.

What Klok does not do
Klok does not file returns on government portals for you; it prepares the figures, files and registers, and reminds you of due dates. There is no Tally connector: data leaves Klok as CSV or Excel, or through the REST API. And because minimum-wage rates are revised by notification, you set the current rate in Klok when a notification is issued; the payroll check then holds every run to it. Always confirm the latest notification with the state labour department before you file.

Where Gurugram payrolls usually go wrong
- Haryana LWF missed for new joiners. Because it is deducted every month, a joiner added after the payroll cut-off is easy to miss. Klok includes LWF in every run for your Haryana entity.
- The LWF cap changed. The employee ceiling moved from ₹31 to ₹34 a month from 1 January 2025. A payroll still using the old cap under-deducts every month.
- Night shifts split across two days. When a night shift is counted as two half-days, attendance and overtime both go wrong. Resolve the shift first.
- Piece-rate and overtime on the same worker. Export units often pay both. Keep the rules explicit and the register will show how each figure was reached.

Is there Professional Tax in Gurugram?
No. Haryana does not levy Professional Tax, so Gurugram, Manesar and Faridabad payroll has no PT deduction.
How is Haryana Labour Welfare Fund calculated?
The employee contributes 0.2% of wages, capped at ₹34 a month from 1 January 2025, and the employer pays twice the employee's share. It is deducted every month. Confirm the current cap with the Haryana Labour Welfare Board, as it has been revised before.
Can Klok handle night shifts for our BPO floor?
Yes. A shift that starts in the evening and ends the next morning is one shift in Klok, so attendance, overtime and shift allowances are calculated on the shift rather than split across two calendar dates.
We are a garment exporter in Udyog Vihar with contract workers. Does Klok fit?
Yes. Contract workers are recorded with their own employment type, visible in attendance and headcount but kept out of on-roll payroll. Overtime is computed from punches by your rules, and the attendance and wage registers are ready when a buyer's auditor or an inspector asks.
Do we need to replace our biometric machines?
No. Klok imports punches from your existing device, and staff away from a device can punch on their phone with location.
