Uttar Pradesh rules for Noida payroll
- Professional Tax: none. Uttar Pradesh does not levy PT.
- Labour Welfare Fund: no deduction in Uttar Pradesh.
- PF and ESI: apply as everywhere in India. Many plant workers fall under ESI, so the wage ceiling and contribution periods matter.
- Minimum wages: notified by the Uttar Pradesh labour department by category and revised with dearness allowance, usually twice a year. A payroll that misses a revision underpays from the day it applies.
- Shops and establishments: Uttar Pradesh Dookan Aur Vanijya Adhishthan Adhiniyam 1962 for offices and shops.
Fewer state deductions does not mean simpler payroll. In Noida the hard parts are elsewhere: night shifts, overtime on export orders, and contract-labour turnover on the lines.

What Klok does not do
Klok does not file returns on government portals for you; it prepares the figures, files and registers, and reminds you of due dates. There is no Tally connector: data leaves Klok as CSV or Excel, or through the REST API. And because minimum-wage rates are revised by notification, you set the current rate in Klok when a notification is issued; the payroll check then holds every run to it. Always confirm the latest notification with the state labour department before you file.

The month-end problems we see most in Noida
- Missed punches on the night shift turn into salary disputes a month later. With mobile punch and regularisation requests approved by the supervisor the same week, the gap is closed before payroll.

Is Professional Tax deducted for employees in Noida?
No. Uttar Pradesh does not levy Professional Tax, so Noida and Greater Noida payroll has no PT deduction. If your company also employs people in a PT state, those employees' payroll carries that state's PT.
Is there Labour Welfare Fund in Uttar Pradesh?
There is no Labour Welfare Fund deduction from salaries in Uttar Pradesh, so Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad payroll does not carry LWF. Your Delhi or Haryana sites, if you have them, do.
How does Klok handle night shifts that end the next morning?
Klok resolves the shift first and the date second, so a 10 pm to 6 am shift is one shift on one working day. Overtime is then calculated from the punches using the grace, rounding and cap rules you set per grade.
Can Klok keep contract workers separate from permanent staff?
Yes. Contract workers are recorded with their own employment type: they appear in attendance and headcount but are kept out of on-roll payroll. Agency billing itself happens outside Klok.

No. Klok imports punches from the device you already have. Workers without access to the device can punch on their phone with location.
