Time & attendance

The register builds itself

Attendance captured at the moment it happens, with shift, grace, late-mark and overtime rules applied by policy — so the number reaching payroll is computed rather than negotiated.

What it does

Time & attendance

Punch From Any Phone

Works on a basic Android, in the employee’s own language. No app store, no training.

Or Your Existing Biometric

Device punches import into the same register, so you are never running two systems.

Shifts And Rosters

Fixed, rotating and multi-site shifts, cross-midnight handled correctly, weekly offs by week-of-month.

Overtime By Rule

Grace, rounding, minimum block and cap set per grade, applied identically to everyone.

Holiday Calendars

Fixed and restricted holidays scoped by location and grade.

Registers And Summaries

Daily register, monthly summary and late-mark reports on screen and as CSV.

Captured at the moment, not reconstructed afterwards

A register written up weekly from memory is the weakest document a company can present at an inspection, and everyone reading it knows. The handwriting is identical for every day of the month, which is not how a month actually happened.

Klok captures the punch as it occurs — from a phone, or from the biometric device you already own — and builds the register from those timestamps. The record grows through the month instead of being produced at the end of it.

Rules resolve by policy, not by argument

Shift, grace period, late mark, half-day, weekly off, holiday and overtime all apply automatically from the policy attached to that person's grade, workplace and shift. Precedence runs from company defaults down through grade to shift, so a seven-day shift correctly clears the weekly off rather than fighting it.

Breaks are deducted where policy says they should be, which is the difference between paying overtime for work and paying it for the canteen.

Sealed once payroll is approved

Late minutes and clock details are stamped at the punch and never recomputed later. Once payroll for a month is approved, the register for that month is sealed — because an attendance record that can be revised after payment is not evidence of anything.

How it runs

From a punch to a payable day

1

Punch captured

Phone or existing biometric. Timestamped as it happens, with the location rules applied.

2

Shift resolved

The right shift for that person at that workplace, including shifts that cross midnight.

3

Rules apply

Grace, late mark, half-day, breaks, weekly off, holiday and overtime — by policy, not by argument.

4

Register sealed

Payable days flow to payroll, and the month locks once the run is approved.

Questions about time & attendance

Can supervisors correct a missed punch?

Through a request that is approved and recorded. The correction is visible as a correction — the original capture is never quietly overwritten.

Do night shifts break the register?

No. A cross-midnight shift is attributed to the shift it belongs to rather than split across two dates, so both the register and overtime read correctly.

Does it work without network at the gate?

Punches queue on the phone and submit when the network returns, so a weak signal delays the sync rather than losing the record.

Do shift rules differ by location?

They can. Policies resolve by location and grade rather than one company-wide rule, because a plant running three shifts and a head office do not share a definition of late.

What happens to a shift that crosses midnight?

It is treated as one shift rather than two days, which is the point most registers get wrong and the point most overtime arguments turn on.

Can attendance be edited after payroll runs?

No. Once a month is approved the register is sealed for that period. Corrections go through a documented adjustment instead, so the payslip and the register never quietly disagree.

Can we switch this module off if we do not need it?

Yes. Modules are switched on per company and what is off is not billed. There is no bundle you have to buy through to reach the part you actually want.

Who can see this data inside our company?

Access follows the role you assign, and every company's data is isolated from every other company's by a boundary enforced in the software and covered by automated tests. Nobody at another company can reach yours.
